Precision welding for small and medium components

CVE’s 60kV electron beam welding machines are used to manufacture small components, from battery cans and medical devices to automotive airbag inflators and turbocharger shaft and wheel assemblies.

The ECO and CW models share a modular, flexible design that keeps footprint small and efficiency high, with standard chamber sizes from 300 x 300 x 300 mm up to 2,250 x 1,250 x 1,400 mm to suit the component.

How 60kV Electron Beam Welding Works

The low heat input of 60kV welding means sensitive internal electronics packages can be sealed without harm, making it ideal for aneroid capsules, latches, bellows, relays and transducers.

60kV electron beam welding machines are typically used for the manufacture of small components including battery cans, medical devices, aneroid capsules, latches, bellows, relays and electronic parts such as transducers.

The low heat input means sensitive internal electronics packages can be sealed in the device without harm, and applications in the automotive industry include airbag inflators, vibration dampers, gearbox components, transmission parts, and turbocharger shaft and wheel assemblies.

The ECO model has a small footprint and high efficiency, ideal for welding small-to-medium-sized components. The CW model shares the same modular design for medium-sized, thermally conductive components, with beam power up to 15 kW.

Every system is built around a directly heated cathode, separately pumped gun column and PC-based HMI, with automatic joint finding and CNC control available as advanced options.

Chamber sizes range from 300 x 300 x 300 mm up to 2,250 x 1,250 x 1,400 mm, so the machine can be matched to the component and production volume.
