Oil and gas components must withstand high pressure, corrosive environments and demanding subsea service, where weld integrity is critical. Electron Beam Welding (EBW) delivers deep penetration, narrow welds and exceptionally low distortion in thick and high-strength materials.
Performed in a high vacuum, EBW joins full-thickness sections rapidly in a single pass and welds corrosion-resistant and dissimilar alloys with near parent-metal strength. This reduces fabrication time, distortion and post-weld machining for critical downhole and subsea equipment.
Fabricated using electron beam welding to join the many blade sections together results in a precise, repeatable weld. Titanium is perfectly suited to the electron beam welding process as it is done in a vacuum to avoid oxidation.
