High-volume welding for strips and batches

CVE’s batch and continuous strip electron beam welding machines are suitable for large production batches, joining two or three dissimilar metals in a single pass.

A batch or continuous strip machine welds continuous strips rather than individual components, reducing labour and material costs for high-volume applications such as metal strips, sensors and relays.

How Strip and Batch Welding Works

The Batch model is suited to bi-metallic or tri-metallic welding with a cycle time from around 30 seconds plus weld process time, while the Continuous Strip model welds at up to 0.3mm per second with multiple vacuum chambers for uninterrupted production.

Continuous strip and batch welders are suitable for large production batches and for joining two or three dissimilar metals, with typical components including metal strips, sensors and relays.

A batch or continuous strip machine welds continuous strips rather than individual components, reducing labour and material costs across many industries.

The Batch model has high efficiency and is suitable for bi-metallic or tri-metallic welding, with a cycle time from around 30 seconds plus weld process time, and standard beam power of 10kW, optional up to 15kW.

The Continuous Strip model welds at up to 0.3mm per second, using multiple vacuum chambers, interchangeable PTFE seals and a strip alignment system to keep parts in contact throughout the weld.

Every system is built around a directly heated cathode, separately pumped gun column and PC-based HMI, with automatic joint finding for up to two joints simultaneously and MES/Industry 4.0 compatibility available.

Industries and Applications

Strip and batch welding machines are used across a wide range of industries wherever high-volume, dissimilar-metal joints are needed. The same electron beam welding technology also serves CVE’s other industries, from automotive to nuclear power generation.
